One hundred years ago, Carter G. Woodson established the celebration of Negro History Week. From his efforts, that week has grown and flourished into Black History Month, celebrating the contributions, ingenuity, fortitude, and strength of Black Americans.
In February, we celebrate our stories of resilience, community, determination, and honor all the joy, beauty, magic, power, and excellence that is Black History!

On January 29, 1913, under the visionary leadership of Nellie M. Quander, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® was formally incorporated, establishing a foundation for its enduring legacy.
Nellie M. Quander’s strategic foresight and commitment ensured that the vision of the organization’s Founders would be preserved through meaningful planning and a national structure. Our incorporation represented a pivotal step in protecting the future our sisterhood.
Today, 113 years later, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority continues to benefit from this decisive action, upholding our Principle, Preservation, and Perpetuity.

Each Friday, we will support Black-owned Businesses in various industries, especially those throughout the UAE and GCC, as we work to Build Our Economic Wealth internationally!

June 14th – Support Black-owned Self-Care, Beauty, Professional Care, and everyday Services
June 21st – Support Black-owned Retail Shops | Boutiques
June 28th – Support Black-owned Companies by shopping with them online.

Omega Theta Omega is committed to facilitating conversations and education on various mental health topics. To demonstrate our commitment, we invite you to Relax, Relate, and Release during OTO’s Mental Health virtual event on Thursday, May 27th at 7:00 pm GST where we will be focusing on Mental Health as an Expat, Setting Healthy Boundaries, the Power of Peer Support, Self-Care, Masking, and Movement to Improve Mood.
